I'm a young mom in my mid-twenties. I grew up in Brantford, Ontario, Canada (Once home to such notibles as Wayne Gretzky, Phil Hartmen, Alexander Graham Bell). I'd like to think I had a wonderful childhood as I got to see and do things alot of children didn't. My mom put me in dance at 3 years old, and I continued on dancing for 16 years. Dancing led to alot travelling around North America and subsequently a short acting career. I first got noticed for my personality and high energy when I was 4yrs old at a Sunburst Modelling Talent Competition in Toronto, which I won. I then went on to Atlanta Georgia for the finals where not only did I not win, but my mom stopped putting me in modelling competitions after the way she saw moms treat their young children. That same year I tried out for the movie " Three Men and a Little Lady", and thats were I landed my agent. I went on to do a bundle of commercials and a few made for T.V. movies. The best gig I landed was in the musical production of "Showboat" in Toronto. I got to work alongside Chloris Leachman (The Ellen Show, Dancing With the Stars, etc.) and other great actors.
It wasn't until highschool that I realized what I wanted to do, which was to work with children and their parents. I enrolled in College in the Early Childhood Education field, then got a scholarship to University and got my B.A in Child Studies. I became a cheerleader at University and also coached and cheographed a junior football teams cheersquad. To help pay my way through school I worked as a promotor for the entertainment business. Being a promoter had its perks, as I got to meet some celebrities and have fun as a "socialista" (is what I like to call it). At the end of my first year of University is where I met my love and future father of our little girl Ella. It was honestly a very cliche meeting as he was a football payer (and I the cheerleader).
I have worked the last 6 years as an early years teacher, as a dance instructor and I am a registered member of the Ontario College of ECE'S. I love everything to do with children. I believe what were taught and what we experience in our childhood, shape us into who we are today. Thats why giving a child the best in physical, intellectual, language, emotional, and social development is key.
I am a proud mom to a 4 month old girl. I absolutely love being a mom. Although tiring, it has been the most rewarding time of my life. I know alot of young moms like myself, can't wait to lose their post-pregnancy weight, get their abs back and just go shopping!! I love fashion and shoes ohhhh boy do I love shoes...it seems becoming a mommy puts us moms on the back burner. But it doesn't have too!!
