TO DO AT HOME

WHAT TO DO AT HOME
Although your baby can't walk or talk yet,  let alone put together a puzzle or draw you a nice picture, there are still tons of things you and your baby can do!

PAINTING
At 4 months old, my daughter and I paint! Using non-toxic safe paint, I strip her down naked and we paint her feet or hands and stamp them on blank paper. If your feeling really adventurous you can let her roll around in paint and sit her on mural paper and let her go free :) make sure to have a bucket of soapy  water and cloth at hand to wipe her down good when shes done.

READ TO THEM
I can't tell you how important reading is to your child's development! Whether they're 1 month old to 6 years old its great bonding and learning for your child.  Board books and touch & feel books are the  best for children under 1years old. My daughter is 4 months old and I really like reading these books to her:
I found a great board book by Billy Crystal (yes the comedian/actor). Its about a grandfathers love for his grandaughter, its great. Sandra Boyton and Eric carlisle I highly recommend. She has a whole bunch of great infant board books.  Babies love to look at other babies, that's why having a board book with pictures of babies works so well. I love the book, Happy Baby 123 because it incorporates babies first words with pictures of babies.

TUMMYTIME
Playtime can be so rewarding. Putting your child tummy down on a play mat gets them using there arm muscles to push up, and grab toys. It also enables them to lift and control their heads, which eventually leads to crawling and rolling over. This is my daughter at 2 months just learning to lift her head
Here is my daughter again at 4 months, learning the basics to crawling. I help her by putting a toy further away from her on the mat, and she tries to go for it.

SWINGS/EXERSAUCERS

Swings are great because they can be used for play or for sleep! My daughter loves to be in her swing (I take of her socks and kiss her feet) she loves it.
Exersaucers have tons of different things for baby to touch. Right now my daughter is loving the mirror on hers.

TOYS
There are tons of toys and games for children of all ages to play with. Letting them play is key to learning and development. My favourite toys for Ella, who is 4 months old are teethers, rattles, board books, things that shake or make noise that she can't choke on, etc. Here are samples: mobiles, and glow in the dark musical fishes
